MBABANE: King’s appointed Senator Isaac Magagula has appealed to Minister of Finance Neal Rijikernberg to speed-up payments for Government suppliers saying the delay destroys businesses.
Speaking in Parliament on Monday during the National Budget Speech Debate, the Senator said in most instances, small businesses win tenders with a valid Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) only to find that by the time Government processes the payment, the Tax Clearance “has long” expired.
“That’s where the problem starts because Government will then halt the payment demanding a Tax Clearance. Can the Minister ensure that Government speed-up the payment of suppliers,” said the Senator.
