MBABANE: Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako, the Board Chairperson of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) who is allegedly implicated in the widely reported Chinese multibillion illegal gambling and extortion scandal is highly expected to resign before being apprehended by the police, a very senior Cabinet source confirmed to this Swaziland News.
“He has communicated an intention to resign,” said the Cabinet source.
This comes after the signing of a warrant of arrest, the FSRA Board Chairperson will be apprehended by members of the law enforcement agency “upon return from Cape Town where he is attending a workshop organized by FSRA”.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson declined to comment about the latest developments.
Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako, the FSRA Board Chairperson and his “out-on-bail” wife Misiwe Jele-Hlatjwako stand accused of colluding with Chinese nationals and other foreigners to engage in illegal gambling and extortion.
