LOBAMBA: Thulisile Dladla, the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) found herself having to explain to Parliament Senator Sicelo Qedusizi Dlamini this week as to why she built for Mlamuli Dlamini of Mtsambama.
The Senator demanded to know how Mlamuli Dlamini was selected to benefit from ongoing DPM’s building of houses for the poor project as he looked young and capable of working and build his own house.
But the DPM clarified that, Mlamuli Dlamini received a normal house even though others viewed it as double-storey.
“It’s a normal house with one bedroom, it’s just that some view it as a double-storey,” said the DPM.
Eswatini has about 70% of the population living below the poverty line, a majority of young people are living in poverty amid scarcity of jobs.
