NHLAMBENI: “IYOLALA IBONENE” these were the words of Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) when he described the energy demonstrated by the youth during the Monday protest against police brutality.
Addressing the family of Thabani Nkomonye on Thursday, the Siphofaneni MP said the bravery demonstrated by the youth suggests that the Nation can no longer tolerate the injustice that is manifesting in the country.
As exclusively reported by this Swaziland News, Thabani Nkomonye was allegedly killed by the police,his body was dumped at Nhlambeni while the car was hidden at Sigodvweni Police Station in Matsapha.
“I was very happy to see the huge numbers during the protest, ngivele ngasho ngatsi iyolala ibonene” ,he said.
The Siphofaneni MP then advised the Nkomonye family to ignore the statement by the Acting Prime Minister and prepare a huge soccer field on Friday where the Nation, observing COVID-19 regulations, would gather for Thabani\'s memorial service . He said many citizens were killed by the police over the past years and nothing happened to the killers adding that today its Thabani, tomorrow it might be someone else\'s child.
The MP was speaking during a visit to Thabani Nkomonye’s family at Nhlambeni by pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) ahead of a mass protest tomorrow(Friday). Other MPs who visited the family include Hosea MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Ngwempisi MP Mthandeni Dube, the legislators were welcomed by Manzi Zwane, the Nhlambeni MP.
