MBABANE: Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza, the Hosea Member of Parliament(MP) has appealed to protestors not to burn homes belonging to the police and soldiers.
Speaking to this Swaziland News audio channel when interviewed by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini, the MP said as pro-democracy MPs they were not aware of the voice note that circulates urging citizens to burn homes belonging to soldiers adding that these officers were taking orders and that some of them are against the ongoing killing of civilians.
“These soldiers are taking orders and they are trying to protect their jobs. So in whatever we do, we must remember that some of our brothers in the army and the police are against these orders to kill civilians. We know who give a command to soldiers, he wants us to fight each, all we are demanding is democracy not anarchy” said the Hosea MP.
Dozens of citizens have been killed in Eswatini in the midst of a political crisis, SADC Troika visited the country on Sunday on a fact finding mission, however, political parties and the civil society criticised the regional organisation after key players in the Mass Democratic Movement(MDM) were sidelined. The Troika team later promised to come back and engage with the civil society after learning that major players were not part of the meeting.
