NGWENYA: Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has urged the Nation to prepare for a mass pro-democracy protest on Friday.
Speaking during the funeral of Msimisi Mkhwanazi(24) on Saturday, the PUDEMO President said there would be a mass protest as part of the ongoing calls for democratic reforms adding that some of them were no longer afraid of death but they wanted their children to live in a better country.
Msimisi Mkhwanazi, a Bachelor of Science and Engineering University student was shot and killed by soldiers at Nkhungu about two kilometres away from the Oshoek Border Gate.
“Comrade Msimisi, your ultimate sacrifice is not in vain, on Friday we will be on the streets of Manzini, if they want to kill us, they rather kill all of us”, said the PUDEMO President.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis as calls for democratic reforms intensify, this week dozens of civilians who were shot and killed by King Mswati’s security forces are buried but more protests across the country are expected next week.
