MBABANE: Lomahasha Member of Parliament (MP), Ndumiso Masimula said as MPs they were happy that the truth has finally come out as to who actually carried out ritual killings in order to stay in power.
This comes after this Swaziland News published an investigative story that revealed that Five(5) people were brutally shot and killed at Lobamba ,Mashibhini by King Mswati’s security forces for alleged ritual purposes in the midst of the political crisis.In eSwatini ritual killings were always associated with aspiring MPs who were alleged to use human body parts in order to win elections to Parliament.
Speaking to this publication on Wednesday afternoon, the MP said they were against ritual killings adding that they don’t believe that a person can gain political power through another person’s blood.
“We are happy now that the truth has finally come out, it clearly shows that MPs never got to Parliament through ritual killings, there is this person who has been hiding behind our names all along”, said the Lomahasha MP.
Simosakhe Shongwe, the Mtsambama MP described the ritual killings as demonic adding that human life was precious and people shouldn’t die in the name of rituals.
“This is demonic, even those who are sent to hunt people for these rituals are possessed with demons.We hope our names will be cleared, since these people usually carry out these rituals just around the elections season and shift the blame on us.Now they have been exposed since the recent killings didn’t happen during the elections season”, he said.
When reached for comments,Sibongile Mazibuko, the President of the Ngwane National Liberatory Congress (NNLC) said the King behaved like a god who had powers to kill and let others live.
“The King has the powers to kill people with impunity for these rituals, we have a known case whereby the then National Commissioner of Police Isaac Magagula bribed a family whose child was killed for ritual purposes and once you follow up on this cases you get killed”, said the NNLC President.
