MBABANE: The new bail application filed by pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube was postponed to 07 September 2021.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Thulani Maseko, the legal representative of the MPs said the matter was postponed after it transpired that Judge Mumcy Dlamini was mourning the death of her relative.
“We discovered that last week there was a funeral and even this week there will be another funeral for one of the Judge’s family members Sigcokosiyancinca Dlamini. Therefore the matter couldn’t proceed today, we are trying to have this matter allocated a date for next week Thursday as our Legal Counsel will be available. Unfortunately, we were told that the Judge will be available on 07 September ,” said for human rights lawyer.
The pro-democracy MPs were charged with terrorism after King Mswati’s allegedly issued an ordered to the police to arrest them, they were leading the calls for democratic reforms in Parliament.
