MBABANE: Arrested pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube have urged Swazis to continue putting pressure and intensify the calls for democratic reforms.
The MPs who were arrested by Mswati’s police for demanding democratic reforms on behalf of the people, sent this special message through their South African correspondent lawyer Sicelo Mngometulu who delivered it to this journalist on Sunday.
“They asked me to inform you as the editor to motivate the Nation that the struggle continues, they are ready to suffer for the people. I was worried that as they continue being kept behind bars they might end up being demotivated but it seems they are serious with their political beliefs,”said the lawyer.
As per an electronic evidence released by this Swaziland News, King Mswati allegedly ordered the arrest of the MPs who were leading the calls for democratic reforms in Parliament.
Mswati, an absolute Monarch with Executive, Judicial and Legislative powers appoints and controls Judges hence the MPs were denied bail by Judge Mumcy Dlamini.
