MBABANE: Soldiers are looking for Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) who is highly critical of King Mswati and his regime.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the students' President confirmed that his life remained in danger as the soldiers have visited his home and relatives asking for his whereabouts.
“It’s true, they arrived at my home several times looking for me and even went as far as asking for my whereabouts from my relatives. I then received information that the order came from Mswati, he feels like I’m undermining him”, said the Students\' Union President.
Reached for comments, Mbongwa Dlamini, the President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT) said he was also aware of the matter and that attempts have been made several times to kidnap the students\' President.
“I also received that information suggesting that Colani is wanted by the army”, he said.
Government Spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini had not responded to our questions at the time of compiling this report.
Eswatini is facing growing calls for democratic reforms after King Mswati shot and killed dozens of civilians, he later denied the allegations saying protesters killed each other.
Students Union President Colani Maseko
