MBABANE: Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini says protesting school children are used by certain people with agendas.
Speaking at the Cabinet offices in Mbabane on Thursday, the PM said valuable time was being lost in the midst of the protests, he warned Swazis not to stand aside and allow their children to be used.
“In the past few days we have seen unrests in a few schools, particularly in the Southern region. Children have left classes and are roaming the streets subconsciously pushing agendas of other people. Needless to say, these are faceless people. Valuable time is being lost at a time where examinations are getting closer”,he said.
The sentiments of the PM come in the midst of unrests, school children across the country are demanding democratic reforms and the release of arrested pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.
On another note, Sibongile Mazibuko, the President of the Ngwane National Liberatory Congress(NNLC) urged King Mswati’s Government to give the children the democracy they are asking for. She said these children have realized that what was happening in the country where government signs loan agreements for the benefit of the royal family will affect their future as the money would be paid by them.
