MBABANE: Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) has invited the youth of the country to participate in a mass protest that seeks to put pressure on King Mswati’s Government to provide jobs and scholarships to all youth members.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday, Maseko said they wanted every deserving young person to get a scholarship and a job after graduating.
“We are inviting everyone, young and old to participate in this protest that will take place on the 8th October 2021. It is important for our parents to support us as the youth and participate in this protest because once we start working, we will take care of them. We don’t want government to be selective when awarding scholarships, we want every deserving young person to benefit”, he said.
Eswatini is a tiny Kingdom facing growing calls for democratic reforms, King Mswati was subsequently reported to the International Criminal Court(ICC) after he allegedly unleashed soldiers to shoot and kill dozens of civilians.
