Some aggrieved security officers refuse to control protests, Correctional Services Union boss says situation might get worse.

MBABANE: Mzwandile Dlamini, the Secretary General of the Correctional Services Union said aggrieved officers would not perform their duties because of government's failure to address their demands.

This comes after officers from His Majesty’s Correctional Services demanded a salary increase as per Phase two(2) announced by Government through the then Public Service Principal Secretary Evart Madlopha.

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday, the Correctional Services Secretary General said officers  were reluctant to perform their duties, they wanted a salary increment from Government.

“Officers are reluctant to perform their duties because of government's failure to address their demands”, said the Correctional Services Union Secretary General.

Government Spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini had not respond to our questions at the time of compiling this report.

On Monday, school children across the country engaged in protests demanding democratic reforms, Mswati unleashed police officers and soldiers to shoot the children in various schools.
