“Shoot us”, protesters tell Mswati’s soldiers in Manzini.

MANZINI: Unarmed protesters stood firmly against Mswati soldiers here in Manzini telling them to shoot.

This was during a protest by public transport employees that brought Manzini into a standstill on Wednesday.

In the midst of the protest, a truck with armed soldiers arrived and the protesters told the army to shoot them.

“Shoot us”,said the protesters.

Army Spokesperson Tengetile Khumalo had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Sabelo Dlamini, the Secretary General of the Eswatini Local Kombis Association in an earlier interview confirmed that public transport employees might protest, he blamed the police for inciting them.

“Maybe the police want everything to stop in this country,” he said.

Eswatini is in the midst of a protest, citizens are demanding democratic reforms, the country is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch.
