MBABANE: A political campaign by King Mswati that was pushed by the State controlled media and meant to blind the people that they would live a better life by the year 2022 has ended after reality exposed it as a hoax.

Eswatini is a tiny Kingdom situated in Southern Africa with about 70% of the population living below the poverty line, King Mswati declared in his various public address for the past five years that eSwatini would become a First World Country by the year 2022.

It has been disclosed now that with less than two(2) months before the year 2022, the country is faced with a health crisis and or shortage of drugs and resources in the various hospitals.

Eswatini is also facing an education crisis, schools were recently closed as a result of a civil unrest that manifested in the midst of shortage of working material in schools and various grievances by teachers who are lowly paid. The country is also facing a shortage of scholarships, students are protesting demanding the removal King Mswati, a billionaire absolute Monarch with Executive, Judicial and Legislative powers.

Government and King Mswati’s Spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini did not respond to our questions when asked if the country would still reach the First World Status, two months from now.

Reached for comments, Wandile Dludlu, the Secretary General of the People’s United Democratic said it was surprising that King Mswati was culturally referred to as the “mouth that tells no lies” while on the other hand he manufactured lies to mislead the people promising them a good life.

“The King is referred to as the ‘mouth that tells no lies’ while on the other hand, politically, he manufactures lies to mislead the people that they will live a better life. These lies are not new, even during the launch of the Smart Partnership, people were promised a good life and when that backfired, they manufactured another lie saying by 2022, the country will reach First World Status and people will live a better life. We want to tell Swazis that it\'s only in a multi-party democracy where the people have the power to remove a leader who lied to them by making empty promises and that is done through the ballot box”, he said.
