MBABANE: Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane, the Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) has given King Mswati a week to release incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.
Speaking during his Family Meeting programme hosted on this Swaziland News, the MP said a political dialogue cannot take place while these MPs are behind bars.
“We are giving you five(5) days that will elapse on Friday, thereafter, the clock will turn around. Within that five days, the message is clear, release Bacede and Mthandeni. Remove that warrant of arrest rubbish against me because you were pretending as if I am wanted for breaking the law yet you know my crime was to speak for the people. Prove your commitment to a dialogue, unban political parties”, said the MP.
The MP then advised senior members of the royal family to publicly disown Mswati and distance themselves from his political blunders to demonstrate that indeed, they were not part of his decisions.
Questions were sent to King Mswati via his mobile number, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report. The King, through his lawyers from Brian Kahn previously wrote a letter to this Swaziland News and its editor saying questions must be directed to Government Spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini who has since been appointed Director of the State owned radio Station.
Eswatini is facing a political crisis, citizens are demanding democratic reforms and the King responded by unleashing soldiers to shoot and kill the protesting civilians.
