MBABANE: Lawyer Thulani Maseko said he was on his way to meet his clients Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube, the pro-democracy MPs who are incarcerated at Matsapha Prison, he assured the Nation that there was no crisis.
This comes after the Times of eSwatini reported that the human rights lawyer had withdrawn his services as an attorney for the arrested Members of Parliament(MPs).
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Friday morning, the human rights lawyer assured the Nation that he was on his way to meet the MPs to discuss some ku issues but said everything was under control.
“You can inform the Nation that there’s no crisis, as we speak I’m on my way to meet them, we are just sorting some few things”, said the human rights lawyer.
Insiders close to the matter told this publication that the State was trying to create confusion in court cases involving MP Bacede Mabuza.
“Firstly, they tried to sneak the MP to court without announcing the date prior so that his followers could not attend. That was when lawyer Thulani Maseko told them that if they are persecuting his client in this manner, he won’t appear in court, not that he withdrew his services”, said the insider.
Pro-democracy Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were arrested as per an order issued by King Mswati, they were leading the calls for democratic reforms.
