MBABANE: Highly regarded Pan-Africanist Professor Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba of Kenya will grace the official launch of Magawugawu’s Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) on Friday.
Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane who is critical of King Mswati and his Government was removed as an MP by Speaker Petros Mavimbela for missing several Parliament sittings, he is wanted by the police on politically motivated criminal charges.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Thursday, Simelane confirmed that Professor Lumumba would grace the official launch of the political movement to be broadcasted live on Swaziland News Facebook page. Other high profile figures to grace the online event as confirmed by Simelane include Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule and Maponga Joshua Marara.
“My leader, yes tomorrow is one of the defining moments in my journey with the nation in this survival battle against the oppression of our people. You have to take tough decisions at a certain point in time.
We are launching a tool which we believe will play a vital role along other tools in the struggle. We are launching SWALIMO and God has been so good that we got befitting guests in the names of Prof Lumumba and the wise man Joshua Maponga to share insights”, said the former Siphofaneni MP.
Efforts to reach Professor Lumumba and Joshua Maponga proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
But Bisho Mpendulo Nkambule confirmed to this Swaziland News that he would be one of the guests during the official launch of the political movement.
