Prince Sicalo says editor’s decision to expose his passport number, car, a security risk and threat to his royal family.

MBABANE: Prince Sicalo Nkopolo Dlamini, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defense alleged that the decision by Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini to expose his passport number and vehicle registration exposed him to security risk.

In a letter he sent to this publication, through his lawyers, Prince Sicalo said the information about his passport and vehicle details were obtained illegally by the editor.

“The information published regarding our client passport and vehicle registration details, we are instructed was obtained illegally by yourself. The publication of our clients private and confidential details(passport and vehicle registration) exposes our client to security risk and a threat to his life and those of his family members”, read the letter in part from Mathopo Attorneys in Johannesburg.

The letter comes after this publication exposed how the Defense Principal secretly left the country through the Oshoek border on 22nd November 2021 allegedly, to meet other State security agents to smuggle guns to shoot and kill protesting civilians.

The first born son of King Mswati who is controlling the procurement of weapons within the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF) in his capacity as the Defense Principal Secretary is demanding an apology from the editor and this publication, failing which, he threatened to approach the High Court.

On another note, Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini said he would not issue any apology to the Prince adding that the story was published based on substantive evidence.
