MBABANE: Hlobsile Dlamini, the SWAGAA Programs Officer says Sibaya is not a conducive platform for a political dialogue.
SWAGAA stands for Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse, a non-profit organization working towards ending Gender Based Violence(GBV) in eSwatini.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the SWAGAA Programs Director said Sibaya remained a platform were Swazis engaged culturally but cannot be elevated into hosting a political dialogue.
“It’s a platform where we engage culturally but it is not conducive for a political dialogue. We have been going there for years, people were appointed and it would end with just that. Not a single recommendation by the people was ever implemented, so we cannot say it’s a platform for a political dialogue”, said the SWAGAA Programs Director.
Efforts to reach Lusendvo Fakudze, the Ludzidzini Palace Governor proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report, his phone rang unanswered.
Eswatini is preparing for a political dialogue that is facilitated by the SADC Troika that seeks to usher the country into a new democratic dispensation.
This comes after King Mswati banned the delivery of petitions and subsequently unleashed soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
