MALINDZA: Liphimbo LaboMake, a collaboration of women rights organizations visited protesting Malindza women on Thursday who decided to sleep in the forests, demanding R46million compensation from government.
This comes after their homes were allegedly damaged by Inyatsi Construction that was engaged to construct King Mswati’s International airport, the blasting of a nearby quarry was cited as the cause.
Former Kwaluseni Constituency Head Purine Bhembe , the Liphimbo LaboMake Treasurer when addressing the women said no one deserves to be homeless in the country.
“It's so sad and painful to see women living in mountains like animals, eating and sleeping in mountains because they don't have homes", she said.
Mapompi Fakudze, the Chairperson of the residents said they were so grateful for the sympathy and support they received from Liphimbo LaboMake.
“What is happening to us is likely to happen to every Swazi if we don't stand collectively against the violation of human rights", he said.
Meanwhile Mswati’s had send representatives to address the residents promising to release their money, however, nothing happened for the past twenty(20) years.
