MANZINI:Vusumuzi Khanyile, a headteacher at Emvimbeko High School has confirmed that some students owing their top-up fees will receive their Form V results until they pay.
Responding to questions from this Swaziland News after some students complained for not receiving their results, the headteacher the top-up fees were not targeting orphans but those whose parents are in a gainful employment.
“Let me clarify that we did not withheld Form V results targeting orphans. Pupils who have lost books and those who have parents in gainful employment and have not paid a single cent won’t get results until they settle the debt” he said.
Over 60 Form five pupils from Emvimbeko High School are crying foul after the head teacher withheld their results saying they were owing part of school fees, a top up fee amounting to E1 750 per pupil.
Edmund Mazibuko, the Registrar from the Examinations Councils of Eswatini said the matter was supposed to be addressed by the relevant parties. “This is a very unfortunate case. However, the Ministry of Education and the schools are the relevant parties who can shed light on the saga,” explained Mazibuko.
