MANZINI:The Swaziland Massacre Victim's and Survivors Association (SWAVISA) has been officially launched at the Roman Catholic Cathedral here in Manzini.
SWAVISA is an organization that seeks to take care of those who survived the ongoing massacre of civilians by Mswati’s forces.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, on Friday, Madzabudzabu Kunene, the SWAVISA chairman thanked all those who were supporting them including their families.
"We are pleading for support but in a way that will assist us to be self reliant and continue providing for ourselves not handouts,we believe there's is nothing for us without us ,we have just lost our legs not our brains ", he said.
When reached for comments, Mlungisi Makhanya, President of the People's United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO)said as a political party they fully supported SWAVISA and they would assist them in any way including the collection of data and making sure that their membership was aware of the association.
"We plead with all Swazis to support them because we know that they are many and some paid with their lives, some are languishing in hospitals yet some are still walking with bullets”, said Makhanya.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis whereby King Mswati unleashed his forces to shoot unarmed civilians who were demanding democratic reforms, dozens were killed and hundreds injured.
