NYONYANE: King Mswati allegedly deployed heavily armed police and soldiers in a helicopter to evict residents of Nyonyane in the Hhohho region.
Mswati allegedly sent Macaleni Dlamini with a battalion of police officers and soldiers on Wednesday, this was a few days after the King, when addressing his regiments at Engabezweni Palace, publicly declared that everything in eSwatini belonged to him.
Reached for comments, King’s man Macaleni Dlamini insulted this journalist when questioned as to why he evicted the citizens at Nyonyane.
“Ngicela ungangetayeli uyeva, yenta njalo-ke Babe, ngihloniphe, ngihloniphe. Ngicela unganginy...(insulting word withheld for ethical reasons) wena uyeva?(meaning: Don’t undermine me, respect me(insults withheld)”, said Macaleni who is also known for grabbing people’s cattle around the country on behalf of Mswati.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Velibanti Lukhele, the Nyonyane Indvuna yeMphakatsi confirmed that Macaleni was evicting the residents on behalf of the King.
“He said he was acting on behalf of the King and ordered the residents to vacate the area saying the Farm belongs to the King through Tibiyo. As we speak, we have a community meeting and the residents are so angry, if Macaleni could emerge, they could finish him-off”, said the Indvuna(Headman) of the area.
It has been disclosed that the Nyonyane Farm was owned by Tibiyo TakaNgwane, an investment entity that was established by King Sobhuza through monies collected from members of the public.
Tibiyo was subsequently grabbed by Mswati who later declared that everything in eSwatini belonged to him.
