MBABANE: About five(5) security guards had to run for cover as ground forces arrived to burn Mswati linked Inyatsi Construction's equipment worth millions at Hhelehhele in the early morning hours on Thursday.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the Commander of the forces said the security guard almost lost his life after he tried to fight them.
“They were about five(5) security guards there and when we arrived, he tried to fight us. We hit him with the gun on the head as a warning and that was when he pleaded with us not to kill him. When we started the fire, one of the guards jumped and landed down in an about four(4) metres donga, I’m sure that one was seriously injured”, said the Commander of the ground forces who urged other security guards to make sure they cooperate.
Michello Shakantu, the Director of Inyatsi Construction did not respond when this publication called him for a comment regarding the latest developments.
Mswati revived the political unrest after abducting students union leader Colani Maseko and subsequently charged him with Sedition.
“We have burnt the garage belonging to the mechanic who sells our comrades to the police, we are now going to burn Inyatsi depot”, said the Commander of the ground forces in a message sent to this editor in the early morning hours of Thursday.
Indeed, Inyatsi depot at Hhelehhele was burnt as promised by the Commander of the ground forces.
At the time of compiling this report, a battalion of police officers were at the scene inspecting the damage.
