MSWATI’S ORDER: SWALIMO President Magawugawu’s house bombed.

FAIRVIEW: Mduduzi 'Magawugawu' Simelane, the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) had his house at Fairview, Manzini petrol bombed in the early morning hours on Friday.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, the SWALIMO President confirmed the bombing but said the petrol bomb failed to catch fire.

“My house was bombed in the early morning hours today, they threw a petrol bomb but it failed to catch fire”, he said.

A senior security officer who worked very closely with Mswati revealed that the King had long issued an order to burn properties belonging to political activists.

“Watsi yini bangashiselwa nabo batokhuta labantfu babo(meaning:The King asked us why we  are not burning the properties of the political activists as well so that the leaders can calm the situation. We thought he was just talking ngoba bekacedza kudla letintfo takhe, he wasn’t stable. We  tried several times to convince him to engage the people, sometimes he would be fine and talk sense saying he wants dialogue, aphindze atsi ngeke yena, lana uyokhishwa kufa, lakhe lelive(meaning: he said he would rather die, the country belongs to him)”, said the royal source who spoke to Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.

Indeed, a picture of a police officer buying petrol in one of the filling stations with a two litre container was seen circulating on social media. 

Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Eswatini is in the midst of a political unrest after King Mswati unleashed soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
