MBABANE:More than 300 pro- democracy activists were on Tuesday blocked by King Mswati’s police from entering the High Court to support the incarcerated pro-democracy MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Calvin Dlamini, the Convenor of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Swaziland (EFFSWA) Hhohho region said they were blocked by the police from entering the High Court premises to support the MPs and were told to seek permission.
“We were addressed by the police outside the court that we can't sing and assembly anywhere near the court.Threats were made that if we don't co-operate force will be used to disperse us”, he said.
Superintended Phindile Vilakati, the eSwatini Police Spokesperson had not responded to our questionnaire by the time of compiling this report.
MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were arrested after an order allegedly issued by King Mswati, they are facing terrorism charges among others.
