The speed at which information flows in this world is amazing and it marginalises a lot of people in the 3rd world because of lack of quality education.
The outbreak of this coronavirus is suddenly showing how ill prepared we are to deal with this matter? When there was an outbreak of HIV/Aids in the 1980s we were ill prepared for it and no steps were put in place to concientise people on the gravity of the scourge.
Many people were wiped off before the international community intervened. Those ruling us continued with their lives as if nothing had happened because the lives of those they ruled did not matter to them. No resources were put aside to show preparedness for the pandemic. Has anything changed in light of the coronavirus outbreak?
Look at the way the first world countries are handling this matter, it is different from the way it is being done here because their governments attach a lot of importance to the vote of the people who have a right to form a government of their own choice. You, being a Swazi, enjoy no such rights and cannot even begin to contemplate what you can tell those who have power to allocate resources, where to allocate them.
As we are being bombarded with a lot of information on telly, we are left with hands over our mouths because nothing is being done in this country, where we are treated like "refugees" in a country we thought belonged to our fathers and forefathers. We have porous borders, understaffed hospitals, ineffective health service, no leadership in the country and no resources(testing equipment and makeshift hospitals). Why aren’t we learning anything from RSA who is trying to do something? Let Swazis prepare themselves to bury each other in numbers. Every man for himself and God for us all!!
