MBABANE: The elderly are calling for the increase of their social grants instead of a funeral cover.

This comes after Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg announced a funeral cover for the elderly in his budget speech.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, Esther Mathunjwa, an elderly woman of Hosea Inkhundla said Government should have increased their social grants so that they could lead decent lives as opposed to a dignified funeral. 

“The funeral cover is once off thing but the increase of the social grants can have  long term benefits, as we could be able to support our families we are still alive", she said.
