MBABANE: Baby mothers have on Wednesday stormed the corruption infested Deputy Prime Minister's (DPM's) office to demand answers on their delayed child maintenance monies payouts.
This comes after DPM’s office delayed the payouts for two months and subsequently paid half of the money to some of the beneficiaries.
In their petition which is in possession of this Swaziland News, the baby mothers demanded answers as to why the DPM’s office delayed the payouts of their child maintenance monies and subsequently paid half to some of them.
“We demand that those who got half of what was due to them, be given feedback before the end of the day. Monthly maintenance money should be paid on the last of each month", reads the petition in part.
Sindi Dube, the Acting Director of Social Welfare Department in the DPM’S office said they would release a press statement on Wednesday afternoon to respond to the grievances raised by the baby mothers.
“We will issue a press statement today to answer all your questions, we will make sure that everyone gets paid accordingly, what is happening is painful even to me ,so we are not sleeping we are sorting this matter", said the Director.
