MBABANE: A police van with officers was attacked by members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) on Saturday night at Mncozini.
This comes a few days after the Commander of the Solidarity Forces told this publication that they would attack roadblocks and seize more weapons “from the enemy”.
King Mswati had through National Commissioner of Police William Dlamini commanded police officers to stage roadblocks at night across the country and arrest the Solidarity Forces.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Sunday, the Commander confirmed that they attacked the police officers, however, he did not elaborate on whether they managed to seize the weapons or not. The Commander said whenever they saw a police car at night, they would just open fire and then grab guns adding that the weapons would then be used to arm the citizens for a battle that is coming.
“It’s true that we attacked a police van at Mncozini around 12 midnight, we also bombed Luve Inkhundla”, said the Commander of the Solidarity Forces.
The Commander said while on their daily operation, they met the police officers driving at a high speed from Mliba Police Station to Luve, they then camped along the road waiting for the vehicle to return.
“We knew that they would come back to the police station using the same road and indeed, they emerged. We then fired shots straight at the windscreen targeting the driver and there was de-acceleration and this means there were possible injuries”, said the Commander.
Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
But Michael Masuku, the Mkhiweni Member of Parliament(MP) confirmed the bombing of the Mkhiweni Inkhundla.
“It’s true that the Inkhundla was petrol bombed, we received information from residents that something happened and when we rushed there we found that it was petrol bombed. As we speak, police officers from the bomb disposal unit are there inspecting the damage”, said the MP.
King Mswati commanded his police officers to shoot unarmed civilians who had gathered at the High Court to support incarcerated pro-democracy MPs.
Insiders within the Solidarity Forces told this publication that they would soon start shooting any police officers randomly who are in uniform to send a strong message regarding the ongoing killing of civilians.
