MBABANE: Sibusiso Mabhanisi Dlamini, the Kwaluseni Member of Parliament(MP) has asked for protection from Judge Mummcy Dlamini shortly after testifying against pro-democracy MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube on Wednesday.
After testifying in court, a visibly scared Dlamini addressed the Judge and narrated how his family was now in danger after the leaking of his police statement.
“I am worried that my appearance here in court to give evidence has subjected me to serious risk in this country.My family is scattered all over following the leaking of my statement which I made to the police, which ended up on social media.My home has been attacked.It seems to me that when you don't share an opinion with certain individuals your life gets to be at risk”,said the MP.
Dlamini told the Judge he didn't choose to testify against the pro-democracy MPs but was asked to do so.
“As I leave here, I don't know what will happen to me, my relatives and my family. I need protection," he said.
The Kwaluseni MP is supporting a regime that kills and brutalizes people who hold a different political opinion and are opposed to King Mswati’s Tinkhundla system of governance, dozens have been killed.
The Judge ordered the Registrar of the High Court to arrange police security for the MP.
