BURNING OF MBOKWENI HIGH: Mswati’s police officers raid Lomahasha homes, arrest two residents.

LOMAHASHA: About ten(10) heavily armed police officers have on Tuesday raided homes here in Lomahasha and  arrested two youth members in Njabulo Masilela and Tshepo Gamedze following the burning of  Mbokojweni High School on Sunday night.

The two are accused of burning the school after they had mobilised residents to fix potholes in the area’s roads where they were violently dispersed by the police. 

Superintended Phindile Vilakati, the eSwatini Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report. 

Speaking to this Swaziland News, Siboniso  Mkhabela, the Head of International Relations of the People's Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) called for the  immediate release of the two young men adding that they were being persecuted for exposing the failure of the Tinkhundla system.

"As the leaders of the Mass Democratic Movement in Lomahasha we shall no longer be held responsible for any violent response from the youth.Our journey of peace keeping ends here. The Government must do the right thing. Release Bacede and Mthandeni, it is now clear that our people want nothing less than freedom”, he said.
