Lomahasha Station Commander stops residents again from fixing potholes amid fears of another political unrest.

LOMAHASHA: Lomahasha police led by Station Commander Philip Tsabedze stopped residents again from fixing potholes that cause accidents along the road amid fears of another political unrest.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, Siboniso Mkhabela, the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) Head of International Affairs confirmed the matter adding that the Station Commander was also present when the police stopped the residents on Sunday afternoon.

“The police came with guns when all we had was a pick and shovel. We shall devise another strategy of patching the road. One strategy under consideration will be to patch the potholes at night when no one is watching. Our goal is to keep our people safe from accidents and we will eventually achieve it,” he said.

Reached for comments,Philip Tsabedze, the Lomahasha Station Commander declined to comment when asked why the residents were stopped from fixing the potholes.

“I can’t comment” said the Station Commander.

It has been disclosed that the police began monitoring the area after a series of protests where residents where protesting against the shooting and  killing of pro-democracy activists Mcolisi Sgubhu Nyoni and Mpostoli Masilela.
