MBABANE: King Mswati, the billionaire Police Commander-in Chief failed to compensate police officers whose properties were burnt as the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF)continued with invading police camps and targeting those who killed civilians.
A WhatsApp message sent by a member of the police service to resigned senior Sergeant Cebile ‘Cece Shongwe revealed that some officers were desperately borrowing or asking for the fifty Rands (R50.00) from those close them to contribute for their colleagues who are victims of the ongoing burning of properties by the Solidarity Forces.
“Awungbhadelele phela bafuna imali yekushelwa kwemaphoyisa.Bhadalele tsine constable bo 50,sgt100kuya etulu shiyana ngabo50(meaning: Please pay for me the 50 contribution for the police officers whose properties were burnt)”, reads a message sent by a police officer to Sergeant Cece Shongwe.
Reached for comments, for comments, resigned cop Cece Shongwe confirmed that she received a message of her colleague in the police service who was asking for the R50.00 to contribute for those whose properties were burnt.
“I can confirm that I received a message from a police officer who was asking that I assist with the R50.00 for contribution. Police officers are being forced to contribute yet these officers are financially struggling,” she said.
Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, the Commander of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) told this publication earlier that they were currently conducting an operation targeting police officers after the police killed civilians.
Properties belonging to police officers worth over five hundred thousand(R500,000.00) have been destroyed since the operation started and this include cars and furniture.
No compensation came from Mswati’s and his Government despite that the police are protecting the King.
