Wednesday, 18th March, 2020

Eswatini government will no longer report the number of suspected cases of COVID-19, a condition caused by coronavirus.

This was revealed by the Minister for Health Lizzie Nkosi in an extensive interview she had with Lington Gule on Eswatini TV’s current Affairs program called Kusile breakfast show on Monday.

“There is no longer a need for government to continue with reporting the number of suspected cases for the pandemic COVID-19; we will now report about confirmed cases only should the country report any,”she said.

On the 15thof March 2020, Eswatini government issued a statement where they revealed that the Ministry of Health awaited for results of seven (7) suspected cases which were taken from contacts of the first positive case. By the time of compiling this report, the government had not given any update on that or whether there were any other suspected cases of COVID-19 in the country.
