MBABANE: State witnesses who were expected to falsely testify against incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube refused to appear in court on Wednesday after the petrol bombing of Brewery Risk Manager Sibusiso Simelane's home.
This publication exposed a series of documents substantiating how the State influenced witnesses to falsely testify against the MPs.
One of the witnesses who was allegedly persuaded to testify was Nkululeko Dlamini, a security guard who was providing security at Ka-Khoza car dealership.
Reached for comments earlier, Nkululeko Dlamini confirmed that he has been persuaded by the police and Judges to falsely testify against MP Bacede Mabuza, Mthandeni Dube and further implicate the then Siphofaneni MP Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane.
“It’s true that I am being persuaded by the police and the court to falsely testify against Bacede and implicate bo-Magawugawu in the burning of the import cars at kaKhoza. I was even told that by doing so, I will be assisting the King. Kwatsiwa mine sengimelele iNkhosi”, said the security guard who was providing security at kaKhoza when at the time the import cars were burnt during the political unrest.
It has been disclosed that the police allegedly gave Dlamini a script and asked him to practice the false testimony so he can be fluent in court when testifying against the MPs.
On another note, the Brewery Risk Manager was allegedly involved in the killing of civilians during the June 2021 but went on to falsely testify in court saying no one was killed.
The Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) later included his name on the list of high profile people to be attacked after playing a key role in the killing of civilians.
The politically motivated criminal trial of the pro-democracy MPs was then postponed after a meeting between the defense, prosecution and Judge Mumcy Dlamini.
