MBABANE: The Management of the Public Service Pension Fund(PSPF) allegedly enjoyed Fifteen Thousand Rands(R15,000.00) within two days at the Hilton Hotel.
This is contained in a bundle of documentary evidence in our possession that include invoices and other payment processing documents.
The PSPF is a multi-billion fund that was established to assist civil servants after retirement, however it is being looted by King Mswati, royal linked companies and other powerful and politically connected individuals.
As a result children of the deceased whose parents worked for Government received as little as Eighty Rands(R80.00) per month while some widows receive a mere One Thousand(R1000.00).
A questionnaire was sent to Elkan Makhanya, the Public Service Pension Fund(PSPF) Spokesperson, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Documents in our possession suggest that the actual amount spent by members of the PSPF Management as per invoice number NOV1933 and purchase order 3252061456 was R14,868.00, it included dinner, a King standard room and lunch among others.
An independent investigation conducted by this Swaziland News further uncovered that the PSPF Management normally spent over five thousand Rands(R5000.00) every-day on lunch at the Hilton Hotel, this amount being payment for lunch including beverages.
Reached for comments, Elliot Mkhatjwa, the President of the Swaziland Pensioners Association (SPA)said it remained an insult to them as pensioners to see the Management spending their money while they received ‘peanuts’.
“As pensioners we receive around One Thousand Rands(R1000.00) per month and its an insult to us to see the Management spending our money like this”, he said.
