Nxumalo was leading Kukhanyeni youth that marched to the Inkhundla offices on Tuesday seeking responses regarding their petition that was delivered to their Member of Parliament Malavi Sihlongonyane last year.

“The Tinkhundla system has turned you against us, we are now enemies. As Kukhanyeni residents we will not participate in the upcoming Tinkhundla elections. You should not bother yourself about returning to office", he said.

Kukhanyeni Member of Parliament (MP) Malavi Sihlongonyane had not responded to our questions at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments, Sakhile 'Awuviva’ Nxumalo, the influential student activist said they went to the Inkhundla centre on Tuesday to seek responses to their petition only to find that their MP had long deserted their constituency.

“We discovered that the MP is no longer participating in the constituency meetings that take place every Tuesday. We phoned him but he told us point-blank that he doesn't have time for us,” said the influential student activist.
