MBABANE: Ngomyayona Mantoni Gamedze, the former Senate Deputy President alleged that police are ignoring his arson case because he is hated by King Mswati.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, the Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairman said for the first time, he had received first hand information that the King hated the people and wondered how an elephant could fight with an ant.
The attack on Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairperson whose Mercedes Benz was burnt by unknown people comes after the organization openly called for democratic reforms saying the Tinkhundla system of governance has failed.
Before being attacked, Gamedze was removed by Mswati as a member of the King’s Inyatsi regiment after he addressed thousands of protestors who had gathered at the American Embassy to deliver a petition seeking the United States(US) intervention in facilitating democratic reforms.
“After reading your story yesterday, I decided to call you and confirm openly that the police are not investigating my case. There’s this investigator Thabo Dlamini, whom I am told, is heading these investigations at Sigodvweni, he never contacted me for an update, in a serious case like this where I was attacked by unknown people within my home”, said the Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairman.
The Investigating Unit of this publication uncovered documents from the Crime Intelligence offices with a list of terrorism cases being investigated by the police in the midst of the petrol bombings, however, attacks on political activists properties were not part of the list.
A questionnaire was sent to William Tsintsibala Dlamini, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
But even before the attacks on pro-democracy leaders, this publication had exclusively reported that Mswati allegedly issued an order to burn properties belonging to those calling for democracy.
Political leaders whose properties were petrol bombed include Wandile Dludlu, the Secretary General of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO), Ngomyayona Gamedze, the Acting Chairperson of Sive Siyinqaba Movement and Penuel Malinga, the National Organizer of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).
Ngomyayona Gamedze’s car was burnt by unknown people.
