MBABANE: Ngomyayona Gamedze, the former Senate Deputy President says he will have to seek a mandate from his political party before deciding whether to stand for elections or not.
Gamedze is the Acting Chairperson of Sive Siyinqaba National Movement, an organization affiliated to the Political Parties Assembly(PPA).
Speaking this Swaziland News on Wednesday, shortly after the Elections and Boundaries Commission(EBC) announced dates for the Siphofaneni elections, the former Senate Deputy President said his decision and that of his political party was to push for multi-party elections.
“I will not stand for the elections without a mandate from my political party, we resolved to push for multi-party democracy so I cannot be seen standing for the Siphofaneni elections without involving my political party. We need to discuss this with the other members and analyse what we seek to achieve if I decide to stand for the elections. But personally, I want to stand for elections under multi-party democracy”, he said.
