MBABANE: Harries Madze Bulunga, the Minister of Sports has urged the Eswatini Football Association(EFA) to appeal a decision by the Confederation of African Football(CAF) that declared Somhlolo Stadium not fit to host international football games.
In a public statement released on Wednesday, the Minister said Government has spent over E30million in renovating the Somhlolo National Stadium.
“It is particularly important to highlight that Government has already addressed most of the issues that CAF had flagged during earlier inspections of the Somhlolo stadium. This includes the installation of a new FIFA-standard artificial turf; rehabilitation of new floodlights; construction of a new media tribune and revamping of the Public Address(PA)system among other things.Government has already spent over E30million on these renovations, with at least E30million more already set aside to continue with further rehabilitation,” reads the statement in part.
