BUHLEBUYEZA BANDLANCANE CHAIRPERSON: We need more men to fight Gender Based Violence(GBV).

BUHLEBUYEZA: Fana Mlotshwa, the Chairperson of the Buhlebuyeza Inner Council(Bandlancane) has urged men to intensify the fight against Gender Based Violence(GBV).

The Chairperson was impressed by the work done by One Billion Rising in partnership with MTN foundation in the area. 

Speaking at Buhlebuyeza on the 29th April 2022 during One Billion Rising-MTN Foundation community engagements, the traditional leader said as a community they do not tolerate any form of abuse against women and girls.

"We need more male leaders to stand-up against violence to women and girls",he said. 

Reached for comment, Colani Hlatjwako, the One Billion Rising Africa Regional Coordinator said: “One Billion Rising Eswatini through the Community circles also create safe spaces for men to engage on strategies to combat Gender Based Violence. Change will come when we understand that GBV affects us all and we all have a role to play to combat it”.
