One Billion Rising's partnership with MTN Eswatini Foundation to produce financially independent women.

MONENI:One Billion Rising's partnership with MTN Eswatini Foundation in empowering budding businesswomen in order to curb Gender Based Violence is already yielding positive results.

On Thursday, One Billion Rising Eswatini visited Bavumeleni Bete Kimi women's group that is running a poultry business in partnership with the MTN Eswatini Foundation.

Sindiswa Simelane, the Chairperson of the Bavumeleni women's group appreciated the initiative adding that they would soon be financially independent.

We are now confident  that we can sustain our lives financially and we will never allow ourselves to stay in abusive relationships”,she said.

In a public statement sent to this Swaziland News, Sitakele Maseko, the Coordinator for One Billion Rising Community Circles said they have been receiving positive feedback ever since they  started creating safe spaces for women to meet and start economic empowerment projects in Moneni. 

“We have been receiving positive feedback from the women that the financial support from MTN and One Billion Rising has changed their lives, since they now meet to discuss how they can strengthen their business ideas, have a platform to share their personal struggles and also get opportunities to be empowered”,she said.
