Buhle Ndlangamandla who allegedly killed dozens of civilians during unrest, shot Thabani Nkomonye protestors.

MANZINI: Buhle Ndlangamandla, the police officer whose name featured prominently in an investigation by this publication into the killing of civilians during the political unrest fired shots at  protestors during the Thabani Nkomonye Commemoration on Friday.

Ndlangamandla who was based at Mankayane Police Station during the June 2021 political unrest was among the hit squad deployed to shoot protestors who were marching to the Manzini Regional Headquarters to deliver a petition, rejecting the findings of the Thabani Nkomonye's Inquest.

Nkomonye was allegedly killed by the police, his body was subsequently dumped at Nhlambeni in the outskirts of Manzini.

Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments, Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) confirmed the shooting of protestors.

“One of the people who were shot is Linda Hlanze,a former student who is a member of the Swaziland Youth Congress(SWAYOCO)”, said the Students President.

It has been disclosed that police officer Buhle Ndlangamandla is a resident of Mafutseni in the Manzini region.
