LOGOBA:King Mswati's police stopped Clean-Up Campaign organized by the Economic Freedom Fighters of Swaziland(EFFSWA)at Logoba, Matsapha on Saturday.
EFFSWA is a political organization dominated by the youth inspired by Commander-in-Chief Julius Malema, it is one of the most active organizations working on the ground to intensify the calls for democratic reforms.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Nombulelo Motsa, the EFFSWA President said the campaign was meant to give back to the community as the party belonged to the people.
“The police came and tried very hard to frustrate the clean up campaign by requesting permission letters from the Umphakatsi and the Municipality. The fighters were able to resist the order which was against them being visible on the ground.We are still going to do more clean up campaigns because a clean environment is a healthy enviroment,”said the EFFSWA President.
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Spokesperson of the eSwatini Police had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
King Mswati declared war against political activists by unleashing his armed forces to shoot and kill civilians,dozens have been killed since the political unrest started in June 2021.
