MANKAYANE: A house belonging to Sicelo Jele, a member of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF) was on Wednesday evening burnt by members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF)amid abduction of human rights defenders by Mswati’s soldiers.
Efforts to reach, Sicelo Jele whose home is situated at Mankayane, Dvudvusini, proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
The burning of the soldier’s house was confirmed to this Swaziland News on Wednesday evening by one of the Commanding officers of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF).
“Yes, it’s true, it happened just five(5) minutes ago”,he said.
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
The burning of Jele’s home comes less than twenty-four(24) hours after the petrol bombing of a house at Ngculini belonging to Manjengeni Vilakati, the Phocweni based Head of Military Police.
The second wave of the political unrest is looming in eSwatini after Mswati’s soldiers intensify the abduction of human rights defenders, dozens of civilians have been killed merely for demanding democratic reforms.
Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) was abducted by a battalion of Mswati’s soldiers on Wednesday, heavily assaulted and subsequently dumped at Matsapha Police Station.
Maseko was hospitalized at Mkhiwa Clinic with serious injuries.
