NEW HAVEN:New Haven Clinic in the Shiselweni region is allegedly manned by one nurse from diagnoses up to the dispensary.
As a result, for the past two weeks, patients were stranded outside the clinic and exposed to extremely cold weather conditions.
Dr Simon Zwane, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Mayibongwe Masangane the Secretary General of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union (SWADNU) confirmed the matter adding that the situation was caused by Government’ s failure to employ nurses.
“Yes that is true and this is the situation in a number of clinics around the country. It is caused by Government who continued to deny the Swazi Nation quality the health care they deserve by not hiring enough nurses and other health care workers.There is also the issue of drug shortage and medical supplies",he said.
