MBABANE:Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini left the country on Tuesday to attend the African Union Summit on Terrorism and Unconstitutional Changes of Government in Africa to be held in Equatorial Guinea.
In an online statement released by the eSwatini Government on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said the Summit would consider Humanitarian challenges, hopes and aspirations in Africa.
“We hope this Summit will bring a lasting to the standing issue of terrorism and unconstitutional change of Government that plagued the African continent,”said the Prime Minister.
Reached for comments,Pius Vilakati, the Spokesperson of the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS)said it was amazing that the Prime Minister would be representing an illegitimate Government in the Summit.
“Swaziland's Government itself is illegitimate. It was formed after a royal coup, the illegal and unilateral repeal of the constitution. It has since then been sustained not by public consent but by military might.
Firstly, the laws of terrorism in countries with illegitimate Governments are not to deal with terorism per se, but to crush people's freedoms,”said the CPS Spokesperson.
