MBABANE: Senior Superintendent Clement Sihlongonyane and Deputy National Commissioner Richard Mngometulu have defied a court order and refused to hand over a passport belonging to out on bail Students President Colani Khulekani Maseko.
Reached for comments, the Students President confirmed that his legal team was struggling to get the passport from Sihlongonyane and Mngometulu who were handling his politically motivated sedition case.
“My lawyer told me that he approached them and they told him that they misplaced the passport,” said the Students President.
Maseko was expected to travel to the Republic of South Africa for medical treatment after being tortured by Mswati’s police and the army.
A questionnaire was sent to Senior Superintendent Clement Sihlongonyane,however,he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Another questionnaire was then sent to Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati, however,she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) was abducted by a battalion of Mswati’s police officers led by Senior Superintendent Clement Sihlongonyane and Deputy National Commissioner Richard Mngometulu,Maseko was subsequently tortured at Manzini Regional Headquarters before being charged with sedition for allegedly destroying King Mswati’s portraits within the various Universities.
On or around May 2022, Maseko was abducted again, this time by Mswati’s soldiers who tortured him next to a river at Engabezweni Royal Residence, the soldiers were allegedly acting on Mswati’s orders.
